Full Container Loads for Sea Freight (FCL)
At FAEFA, we assist start-up companies as well as those that are well established so please excuse us if we are telling you things that you already know. Our ethos is to make our solutions as flexible as possible, by offering the full range of containers, as well as collection and containerisation facilities. There are two basic ways that FCL can be handled and these are applicable to both exports and imports.
· We can position the containers at the premises that you nominate, where you arrange to have the container loaded.
· We can collect the goods on the appropriate type of vehicle, take them to our nominated warehouse and arrange the loading for you. Obviously, this is would be applicable, when you do not have the facilities. The exception to this is likely to be refrigerated container, due to the potential damage to good that may result from temperature fluctuations.
Buyer’s Consolidation
We have also worked with clients who are exporting to one buyer but the buyer has purchased goods from a multiple suppliers around the UK and in some instances, northern Europe and requires them to arrive together, on the same Bill of Lading. This can be handled in two ways:
1. The principal supplier coordinates all of the orders and arranges for the container to be loaded. Clearly, you do all the chasing and administration yourself.
2. FAEFA nominate the receiving warehouse, handle the communication between the suppliers and once all of the consignments have either been collected by us or delivered in, arrange for the container(s) to be loaded. This option has benefits to administration, space in your warehouse and possibly to your insurance. We also provide a spreadsheet with real-time information so that you can see what progress is being made.
Both of these options can be made available when the British importer has this need – i.e. where you are buying from multiple suppliers. We can progress chase each of the orders for you so that you know real time information.
